booking policy (adapted)

Please note the payment and cancellation terms below are specific to this one event only to make retreat booking more comfortable at this time. 

For the July 31st - August 9th, 2021 event at Villa Sumaya: 
 
Payment:

 

Upon booking, you will place a deposit of $600 USD.

 

Your full retreat fee balance is required 30 days prior to the retreat start date.

 

Retreat bookings are generally processed via We Travel  - which accepts direct deposits (free), debit, and credit cards (2.9% added fee). Payment can also be made via bank wire transfer (US or international) or Venmo.

Special Cancellation & Refund Policy: 

If you cancel before 30 days of the start date: half of your $600 deposit will be refunded. 

If you cancel between 30-15 days of the start date: your $600 deposit will not be refunded. 

If you cancel within 14 days of the start date and not due to the specified Covid-19 reasons**: Half of your full payment will be refunded. If we can fill your spot in full in the remaining time, we will retain only your deposit. 

This policy reflects that we have only 12 exclusive spaces that can be booked for this retreat and are often booked in advance. 

**LOW Risk Flexibility for Covid-19 Cancellation**

If you have to cancel last minute for any of these Covid-19 related reasons specifically, you will be refunded all payments except half of your deposit ($300) to cover admin fees and any pre-booked ground travel.  

1) verifiable government travel restrictions in your home country prevent your departure to Guatemala

 

2) verifiable government travel restrictions in Guatemala prevent your arrival to Guatemala

 

3) you receive a Covid-positive test result prior to departure (proof of positive result required)

 

Travel Insurance: 

To further protect your travel investment, including transport costs or unforeseen circumstances, travel insurance is strongly advised for all participants.

 

For maximum coverage, purchase a 'cancel for any reason policy' upgrade option which covers a high percentage of your non-refundable costs. These policies often need to be bought 14-21 days after booking and have a 48 hours prior to departure cancellation window. Availabe from insurance companies like Trawick International and Travel Guard. 

Event Cancellation:

Storyteller Within reserves the right to cancel any program at any time. If an event is cancelled, you will be fully refunded your retreat fees. 

 

Exception: Storyteller Within is not liable for events beyond all control - such as natural disasters, political upheaval, or other such unexpected circumstances - that would necessitate cancellation of the event.
