Seasons of The Heart

When it’s winter in my heart And my lungs have lost their leaves And my thoughts have turned to ice The cold clinging to their eaves And the day is darker still Than the thickest part of night And no matter how I try My eyes can’t find the light And the quickness in my veins Has halted to a crawl And the brightness of the sky Is all but shadowy and dull And the hours taut with longing Stretch across time’s barren plain I take solace in the warmth of Knowing spring will come again (Stephanie Katz)

"The notion that our lives are like the eternal cycle of the seasons does not deny the struggle or the joy, the loss or the gain, the darkness or the light, but encourages us to embrace it all – and to find in all of it the opportunities for growth."

(Parker Palmer, There is a Season) No matter what season of the heart you may find yourself in this month - or on this day, or in this hour - you are invited to gather with us next fall as we honor the beauty and pain and richness in all of it and enjoy a few days of yurt life at Seven Springs Retreat Center in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.

*Gather to reconnect with a freer expression of your own creative intuition*

During the September 20th-22nd, 2019 Awaken Your Creative Soul Women's Retreat with Marianne Richmond, best-selling children's book creator, we'll honor our feelings and move with inspiration through writing and art and yoga and dance and meditation. All levels welcome and no experience needed.

*Gather for a deeper reverence of our own inner knowing and embodied experience as women*

This cyclical theme of regeneration is also the very essence of Demeter - the Greek goddess of nurturance who reminds us that life is lived in cycles of birth, death, and rebirth - transformative cycles of seasons.

We'll explore our relationship with the cycles in our own lives in the Sept 26th - Oct 1st, 2019 Myths of Feminine Mystery Retreat with mythologist, storyteller and astrologist Melanie Champagne as we circle for storytelling and writing and yoga and meditation and mystery.

It'd be my pleasure to welcome you into a circle beside one of these incredible souls and the amazing women who have so far heeded the call to join us.
